Obama Announces Increased Sanctions against Iran
Good news, but sanctions alone won’t do it. Forcing Iran to quit its nuclear programme will.

“Maintaining a vibrant economy is the most important kind of social justice,” Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu says. He’s so right. Redistribution of wealth, which many assume is the gateway to prosperity, is not social justice.
Moshe Feiglin echoes past homophobia.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is at it again. Anti-Semitic fantasies about Jews ruling the world and some lunatic idea about all world problems being solved by Israel’s destruction.
From Pink News:
Hugh Gilbert, the Catholic Bishop of Aberdeen who said he ‘loved’ gay people told the Scottish Catholic Observer: “Why is it alright for a man to marry another man, but not alright for him to marry two women? If we really want equality, why does that equality not extend to nieces who genuinely, truly love their uncles?”
Surprisingly he went on to suggest that he has some experience of incest within Aberdeen: “And, if you say that such things don’t happen, that they are mere freaks of nature, extreme examples dreamed up for the sake of argument, I say you need to spend more time in the parish.”
This reminds me of a passage in a book I read about racism in America. When the then popular ban on interracial marriage was challenged, some religious leaders argued that to allow white people to marry black people would be like allowing humans to marry apes.
This is extremely funny if you know anything about the popularity of Men’s Health amongst gay men. Fitness advice mixed with pictures of muscular men—it’s a gay hit.
The Peace and Freedom Party? Oh, dear God!
From the party website:
The Peace and Freedom Party is an open, multi-tendency, movement-oriented socialist party. We are united in our common commitment to socialism, democracy, feminism and unionism and our common opposition to capitalism, imperialism, racism, sexism and elitism.
And its says it has now nominated Roseanne Barr for President and Cindy Sheehan for Vice President!!! Dumb and Dumber, sort of.
This is the moral question that can make the calmest of gay parties turn into war. Personally, I think it’s better for most not to say anything but play safe. If you’re the kind of man who can’t have good sex with a condom, then you ought to be open about the risk you expose your partner to.
Love the pictures.
Elliott Abrams writes about the Scandinavian fondness of attacking Jews, Israel, and Judaism.
Had it not been for his awful violation of civil rights, Belarus’s dictator would be an amusing drama queen.
Just a reminder of what contemporary, politically correct Jew bashing looks like.
The blogging has not really returned to its normal speed. There are a few reasons for this. One being that I’m currently job-hunting. I’m only an essay away from my final degree at university, and it’s time for me to get a real, full-time job. I’ve been freelancing most of my life and is pretty fed up with that lifestyle of constant worrying over money. So, I have decided to change my life. Instead of underpaid freelance writing, I’ll work with something completely different while I write the things that really interest me. My old dream about writing a book has resurrected, so maybe I do something about it when I no longer have to spend time on other writing assignments.
It’s Friday, and it’s Shabbat soon. Have a nice weekend!
Here’s a study many heterosexual men will like. Your sperm could be the cure for your pregnant partner’s morning sickness. Print and save, guys!

I spent the whole night in Copenhagen. When I sat on the train back to Malmö, the sun came up over the Sound. I took this photo with my iPhone, and I like the flowery style it got. Not a masterpiece, but hey, I had just spent the night in a bar.
It’s true that everything has been done. Here’s a book I thought didn’t exist.
I don’t care much for the Olympic games, but the ongoing closing ceremony in London is spectacular.
The Swedish MP and author Johnny Munkhammar has died. I only met him once after a lecture he held in Malmö a few years ago, but I have been following his blog and I read some of his book. He was passionate about the free market and liberty. A good man.
This man really does everything to avoid justice. I feel sorry for the women who may never get their case dealt with in a courtroom.
I have made a decision that just might change my life completely. On 30 September, I will travel to Boden, a small garrison town in the very north of Sweden—not far from the actual North Pole. There I will attend a six-week long course to become a certified security guard. I will live in and be drilled at what used to be one of Swedish Army’s largest engineer regiment.
Some of my friends have no declared me officially insane. To them, it’s madness to do an advanced university degree in philosophy of religion only to “throw it all away” on a career in the security business. But I am tired of spending all my time reading and writing about religion. And the very thought of going back to full-time freelancing makes me sick. So, I had a rethink and confronted myself about what I want to do with the rest of my life. Until recently, I had convinced myself that I belonged in academia, that I should aim for a nice position at some university. But in a moment of brutal honesty, I realised that the jobs I liked the best have all been mobile and flexible. The best writing I have ever done has been produced alongside jobs where I moved about and did other things than forcing myself to produce text on time.
The blogging will continue, but be prepared for a somewhat different Christopher in October and November.
The world’s greatest drama queen really knows how to get attention.
Allegedly, the Ecuadorian government believes Assange’s fantasies about a conspiracy between Sweden, Britain, America, and the two Swedish women say who where were raped. It has now granted Assange asylum.
Why? Ruth Pearce explains:
The fact that Pussy Riot targeted the Orthodox Church in their most recent protest is also of consequence. They did so to highlight the dangerous extent to which the interests of the Church are intertwined with those of the Russian authorities.
This relationship is manifested in part through officially sanctioned sexism and homophobia. It can be seen in homophobic laws backed by the Church, and in tacit support from the authorities for homophobic violence dished out by religious extremists.
Russia went from state-enforced secularism to state-enforced Christianity. Same shit, different name.
This Shabbat will not be like others. Tomorrow, at 11:45, Malmö’s Jews, and our friends, will gather outside the synagogue to march through the city protesting anti-Semitism. Join us if you can!
Have a nice weekend!
QX has the pictures.
Yesterday, Malmö Jewry said no to anti-Semitism.
Germany is once again hunting down its Jewish population. In our century, it’s called humanism. Same thing, different name.
I like this.
I vote for Eurobonds.
I don’t like a ban, but at least the Tasmanians have the decency to respect Jews and Muslims.
“In a study published Monday in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, a team of economists and epidemiologists estimated that every circumcision not performed would lead to significant increases in lifetime medical expenses to treat sexually transmitted diseases and related cancers—increases that far surpass the costs associated with the procedure,” Eryn Brown of the Los Angeles Times writes.
There’s nothing like an old-school, royal scandal.
“Merkel and the German parliament have said that they intend to push for legislation to ensure that Jews and Muslims have the right to carry out the religious ritual,” Jacob Edelist reports. But as always, there are people who wish to see Jews and Muslims behind bars.
The contemporary atheist movement managed turn its disbelief of God into a religion, so it makes perfect sense that it has now split into several competing sects. I predict that we in a very near future will see atheists vigorously fight not only religious people and freedom of religion, but also each other. I think so because the problems associated with religion is not really about religion but about humanity. Take any belief and turn it into unquestionable truth and you have a massacre about to happen.

Josefin Dolsten wants to help Europe help children.
Zara’s husband wants to kill her because she asked for a divorce.
And this happens at the same time militant atheists are marching for a ban.
Forget global warming, this is a real a nightmare.
The same pastor wants a ban on Gay Pride because it is depraved.
America’s “most influential pediatricians group says the health benefits of circumcision in newborn boys outweigh any risks and insurance companies should pay for it,” Times of Israel reports.
It does seem so. Bad. Very bad. And sad, too.
Here we go again.
This is very worrying. Secularism—that used to be about government not favouring one religion and forcing people to adapt to one specific religion—has been hijacked by militant atheists who do what religious fanatics have always done when they seek to ban every religious practice outside the European mainstream.
French prosecutors have opened a murder inquiry into the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in 2004. I think the man died of boredom. I can’t be easy being a corrupt multibillionaire and leader of a going-nowhere organisation.
But by the time you get cancer, you’re too drunk and depressed to care?
A new low for Hungary.
Brendan O’Neill has written an excellent article.
“German scientists say they have found a link between Internet addiction and a specific genetic mutation that also plays a role in nicotine addiction,” The Local reports.
Makes me think of Björk’s “The Modern Things”:
All the modern things
Like cars and such
Have always existed
They’ve just been waiting in a mountain
For the right moment
Listening to the irritating noises
Of dinosaurs and people
Dabbling outside
Long before there was an Internet, there was a gene to make people addicted to it.
Here is the full text. Quite a good speech, I must say.
The Berlin prosecutor office’s document suggests that the Berlin government rejects the Cologne decision to ban circumcision. A small victory for freedom of religion.
It’s Friday night, and I welcome the Shabbat bride.
The homophobic lobby group American Family Association is at it again.
