Big Change for the British Monarchy
The order of succession will in future be determined by the order of birth, regardless of gender; and royals who marry Catholics will no longer be excluded from the line of succession. These are big changes to an institution known for its conservatism and reluctance to change.
In sixth-form college, I did my final essay in Politics on the monarchy. For some reason, the details have stuck in my head and I’m still something of an expert on the laws governing the British royals. Not that I have any use for it, but still, it’s knowledge.
