Mexican Catholic Church Wants Free Speech

Mexican politicians have found an old, pre-democracy law that enables them to ban organised religion from endorsing political candidates. The attempt to silence the Catholic Church came after it encouraged people not to vote on candidates who are in favour of same-sex marriage and legal abortions. The irony is that this has turned the table and made the Catholic Church fight for free speech. Must be the first time the Catholic Church has stood up for any civil liberty.
