The Difficulty of Getting Married in Israel

A short video about the fight for marriage reform in Israel. Of course, what is not mentioned in this video clip is that Israel, unlike all other countries in the Middle East, does recognise same-sex marriages. Like the secular or interfaith heterosexual couples, gay Israelis must get married abroad.

Most of my friends in Israel travelled abroad to get married. Not because that all had to, but because they did not feel comfortable with an Orthodox rabbi.
