Christian Homophobia Kills Men in Jamaica

David McFadden of the Associated Press has written an article on the raging homophobia in Jamaica. As is the case with all homophobic Christians, local church leaders blame the victims of the violent oppression they are subjected to. Homosexuality is linked to rape and paedophilia. This has resulted in homophobia so severe that many Jamaican men refuse to get digital rectal examinations for prostate cancer. “Because it is a homophobic society, there’s such a fear of the sexual implications of having the exam that men won’t seek out help,” Dr Trevor Tulloch of St. Andrews Hospital is quoted as saying.
