A Stroll Through Gothenburg

My spouse and I spent the past weekend in Gothenburg. It was my first visit in more than a decade. Our reason for going was a party held by one of my closest friends. But apart from the party itself, it gave us a chance to explore Sweden’s second city. After Sunday breakfast, we walked through the city centre.

At noon, we strolled in the harbour. I took this picture after we had finished a quick coffee at the Maritime Museum. A large red-coloured ship from Copenhagen was just about to be moored in a dock on the other side of Göta River.

At two o’clock in the afternoon, we returned to the hotel and its car park. Before we drove off, I took this photograph of Kungsportsavenyn. The hotel we stayed at is located next to where I stood when the picture was taken.

We left Gothenburg only thirty-five hours after our arrival. Perhaps I will return in a decade.
