The Failure of the Swedish Model

It’s a bit difficult to explain to people with no experience of Swedish political culture, but a major part of the massive propaganda produced by the ruling Social Democratic Party says that Sweden’s socialist welfare-state model is uniquely successful. It is not uncommon that the government ministers, officials, and public authorities openly tell Swedes that all other countries are worse off in every aspect thinkable. Therefore, many Swedes hold the belief that people around the world admire our ”Swedish Model”. An important aspect of the Left’s propaganda success is the misinformation on poverty. Officially, we are to believe that poverty is eradicated, but the statistics reveal the lie. When compared to other European countries, Sweden is not that successful. In fact, our poverty rate is increasing:
