No Travel for the Working Class

In an attempt to prevent low-budget travelling, the Swedish Government—known for its Marxist-inspired class-war rhetoric—is introducing a new tax on cheap flight tickets. But in order to prevent criticism from core voters in northern Sweden, this part of the country will be excluded from the new tax. It will, however, be introduced in the south and the urban areas where the majority vote liberal. The new tax will force low cost airlines like Ryanair to raise the price on their tickets by 45% as from July next year. This will naturally hit the low-income travellers the hardest. So much for the Government’s solidarity with the working class.
