I’m an Anarchist

I have just taken a political test that showed I am an Anarchist. I did not know that, but I cannot say that I am too surprised. I have always been fond of freedom, and in a way, no ideology advocate freedom as much as anarchism. I will, however, continue to label myself Libertarian since I believe anarchism fails when it comes to the vital part of protecting the individual liberty. A small government with very limited powers is needed even in a utopian society.

When I am on the subject of ideological anarchy, I must recommend an anarchistic German philosopher known as Max Stirner. He wrote an interesting book entitled The Ego and His Own in which he argues for egoism in a way that in part resembles Ayn Rand’s argumentation in her book The Virtue of Selfishness. This shows that the line between what is called liberalism/libertarianism and anarchism can be thin.
