The circumcision debate in San Francisco is turning into a farce with prohibitionists publishing a comic book series called Foreskin Man that, according to the Chronicle, “follows the adventures of a fictional intactivist superhero”. As you can see in the picture, it’s all about saving the Jews from Judaism. It’s both funny and disturbingly xenophobic.

In case you didn’t get it, “intactivist” is the term the prohibitionists have given themselves. In their terminology, circumcised men are mutilated whereas uncircumcised men are “intact”.

Yeah, it’s all about bullying. It goes back centuries. Sigmund Freud wrote about this Christian need to humiliate Jews in Little Hans (1909), “The castration complex is the deepest unconscious root of anti-Semitism; for even in the nursery little boys hear that a Jew has something cut off his penis and this gives them a right to despise Jews.”
